About Me

The man with a unique way with words.

That’s what people say about me time and time again.

People who have a unique way with words are called wordsmiths, and I have the power and ability to craft letters in minutes that are razor sharp, factual, straight to the point and succinct.

I have spent most of my career working in financial services in various roles over the years, with my most recent role working as an Anti-Money Laundering Investigations Manager for a global Bank where I had to decipher suspicions, investigate and articulate my findings in reports that were submitted to the National Crime Agency (NCA) for further investigation.

My writing journey began in 2011 where I wrote a blog to encapsulate a fly / drive holiday in the Shetland Isles, which was published by the Shetland Islands Tourist Board to promote the Islands as a holiday destination.

I received good feedback from a blog that only took about 30 minutes to write, and people said that I should be a travel writer and that I have a natural flair. I didn’t really think much of it until the idea came to mind about various bad consumer experiences that I have had over the years that could fill a book. I made a start doing just that in October 2015 and completed it with a website that I built from scratch within 12 months.

I wrote and published a consumer book in September 2016 that has plenty of 5* reviews on Amazon and has sold on 3 continents titled ‘How to Effectively Resolve Consumer Complaints and Motoring Disputes’ that spans various consumer laws over 3 jurisdictions (England and Wales, Scotland and the Isle of Man).

I also built and host a popular consumer website that neatly links in with my book www.thecomplaintsresolver.co.uk, which attracts a lot of global traffic with content that is informative, factual and engaging.

I have since updated my consumer book with a second version in March 2019 to reflect the change in Data Protection legislation that was enacted in May 2018 in the UK and the Isle of Man, namely the General Data Protection Act (“GDPR”) 2018.

BBC Radio Scotland and the Daily Mail have interviewed me as a consumer champion for programmes and features. I was featured in the Daily Mail as 1 of 5 of the best consumer champions in the UK in June 2019.

I have also released a book specifically on how to cancel parking tickets and win pothole claims simply because it’s something I often get asked about.

I am an avid foodie and my restaurant reviews can be found on TripAdvisor, where my attention to detail is second to none and I have articulated my experiences with honest appraisals that have been viewed by over 55,000 readers.

I have also written blogs for other publishers, bloggers and the travel industry and I can ghost write blogs for other writers. My most recent ghost blog was about Gibraltar and the apes for a friend who has relocated from the Isle of Man to live in Southern Spain and works part-time in Gibraltar.

I have other books in the pipeline on different themes that I shall be publishing in the foreseeable future. You can read my author profile on Amazon.

I have worked in large and small offices over the years and writing is my passion, hence creating this website for that sole purpose. Let me be your voice and put the power of words to work.
